Hi guys, thank you for all your well wishes and “Happy Birthday” messages. This birthday felt a little different in a good way! I am so excited about what God is doing in my life and right here on what I am sharing with you. My day was so much more special because a few of you thought of me, so again thank you!
Let’s get into it! Speaking of getting “wiser” there was an IG post on my timeline that said, “Hey everyone over 20, do you feel like time is running out to get your life together.” As I read it, it hit me like a ton of bricks, because like… YES! LOL. I began to think of all the things that I “should” have done, all the things that I want to do, all the changes I need to make. When my mind runs away with concern for the future, I usually let my thoughts run wild. I rarely turn to God right away as I should. But God has such a distinct and wise way of expressing His responses to the pressures of life in his word. Truth usually hits me over the head during the most random study time with the Lord. So, if you’re like me excited for another year of life but expecting and desiring more, experiencing delay, or just feel like “God what are your plans for me” keep reading. I’d like to encourage you.
First, I want to assure you that the plans of God are still intact for life no matter how old, young, late, or early you start as long as you take him along with you for the journey. As you desire more and seek the different possibilities for your life I want you to take on a few practices. Quiet yourself often, listen for the promises of God and wait for them confidently. There is something so powerful about a person who has taken the time to allow their life to be approved and vetted by God. They take their hopes, dreams, interests, and distractions to him and ask “Does this fit the plans that you have for me” and wait for his answer or they wait for his promise to come to pass.
Romans 8:25 “But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.” The context was concerning God’s children waiting to receive the future glory that Jesus promised us through the Holy Spirit. I believe this principle applies to any promise that God has given us. What does this have to with me or you feeling rushed or behind in life? Simply put, a God-ordained life carries the guarantee of confidence. You can be confident that the plans of God will unfold as you keep walking and taking steps with him. Even when you don’t see it you wait patiently, confidently, and look forward to what God has promised you.
As you look on IG and see one of your followers’ most recent successful ventures, are you confident that God’s timing for them is different from the success that he has coming for you? Are you confident that you are close enough to God to hear His direction? Are you confident enough to trust what God is doing in your life? Our hope is never in our own plans, life’s time clock, or the IG highlight reel but our hope — our confidence is in knowing and receiving God, daily. And because we know and receive Him daily we have confidence in the promises spoken in His word and spoken to our hearts in private. It is in knowing that every day we walk with him our steps are ordered. We can be confident that God has a plan for us and he is faithful to see it through. May it be well with all of our hearts and souls that we are where we need to be in this season. And even if we are not, God is still able and available to you, waiting for you with a destiny that is still obtainable. Be confident in Him and his promises as you wait to see it all come to fruition.
As always, I do love sharing inspiration and the Gospel with you guys but I am nowhere near as good or as powerful as the real one, Jesus Christ. Receive Him, follow him, dig into the Word and see real transformation. See you guys next time.
