Hi, my people! I hope you guys are staying well and staying home as much as possible. Things seem to be a bit crazy right now, but I believe what I write today will encourage you. Do not be in fear, because God is in control. What I want to stress to you all today is don’t miss what God is doing. On Monday, I took some time to just be with God. I felt that I needed to be close to him. I needed an escape. While just resting and praying I began to cast my cares on him and I feel, in the process, he assured me of what I needed to share with you guys today. Let’s get into it.
I was prompted to read Isaiah 55. In this text, God is speaking to Jerusalem through the prophet Isaiah. What was highlighted to me was verses 10-13.
” ‘For just as rain and snow fall from the sky and do not return there, but water the earth, causing it to bud and produce, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater; so is my word that goes out from my mouth – it will not return to me unfulfilled; but it will accomplish what I intend, and cause to succeed what I sent it to do.’ Yes, you will go out with joy, you will be led forth in peace. As you come, the mountains and hills will burst out into song, and all the tree in the countryside will clap their hands. Cypress will grow in place of thorns, myrtles will grow instead of briars. This will bring fame to Adonai as an eternal, imperishable sign.”
Isaiah 55: 10-13
When the rain comes or when snow falls it inconveniences us for a moment but it is fruitful to our land. We are in a time where God has allowed it to rain. He has allowed it to snow but it will produce. God is not surprised. He is very intentional, even in this chaotic time. What we must focus on is what God wants to produce in us in this season. What does he want to cultivate in the soil of our spirits and hearts individually and corporately. Like snow or rain, the appearance of this virus has slowed us down, cancelled our plans, kept us inside but we will see God’s fruit when the storm ends.
The following text (Isaiah 55:12-13) declares that we will have joy and peace. There will be growth in dry places, and God will receive fame. You may want to take part in this and question how to do we partner with God. Like Isaiah 55:6-7 says, we are to seek him, call on him, and return to him. Now is the time to put this into practice if we want to be involved in the greater glory that is coming. This is not a season of fear but preparation. The issues we face may be very real but they are distractions. God being so good has given you the option of turning this chaotic time into an opportunity to develop in him.
This time at home is not just free vacation time from work. It is a preparation for what God is going to bring of this. You do not want to be on the sidelines of what God will accomplish in the time. I truly believe that there is a revival and a pouring out of God’s Spirit on the horizon. I have heard many people saying it time and time again. Now I can finally feel it. Don’t allow fear and wasted time to steal your harvest. Prepare!
