So it’s literally a little past 2 AM as I write this post, but I couldn’t sleep, so I decided to scroll on IG a bit and peek into the Bible app. I came across this scripture that I’m sure I’ve read a few times but never actually caught the tip I’m sharing with you today. Long story short, it speaks to me, and I hope it speaks to you too.
I don’t know your personal goals, but I will share one of mine – very vaguely to save time. I desire to put more effort into creating content for this brand’s expansion. As I began to take that goal seriously, I realized it takes work I am willing to do, but sometimes it feels like I can’t get enough done to go to bed satisfied. You may be in the same boat. You have goals of your own but can’t seem to get enough done consistently to move closer to achieving them. Girl here – look at what our Uncle in Christ had to say about his time.
“You may be asking why I changed my plan. Do you think I make my plans carelessly? Do you think I am like people of the world who say “Yes” when they really mean “No”? As surely as God is faithful, our word to you does not waver between “Yes” and “No.” For Jesus Christ, the Son of God, does not waver between “Yes” and “No.” He is the one whom Silas, Timothy, and I preached to you, and as God’s ultimate “Yes,” he always does what he says.”
2 Corinthians 1:17-19 NLT
Uncle Paul said, “I said what I said,” in the holiest of ways. If you’re wondering what this has to do with you and your goals and plans, a lot. It has a lot to do with them. Sis, we need to get like Paul and dare to ask ourselves the question first, do we make our plans carelessly? Do we make changes at a whim? Or do we show up daily as if we report to a boss? Paul was about the Father’s business, so he planned his life accordingly and stayed impeccable with his word modeling the life of Jesus. You, being about whatever business God has given you in this season, should also plan your life accordingly. Some of us (ME) have weight loss goals but keep accepting every brunch invites over and over again. The two do not coincide. Put this into the context of your goals and do the opposite of what I’m doing. Reject the plans that don’t coincide and put the effort into the ones that do.
Seriously, does your schedule accommodate what you genuinely need to make things shake? If not, reevaluate and make some changes. A destiny fulfilled won’t just fall into your lap but require the necessary steps. It’s ok to commit to yourself and create space to ensure you can honor them, today, take a look at this past week, and assess your wins, loses, and what needs to stay or go. Then, send out notice that plans have changed and stand firm.
