Hi beautiful people! I know that Friday can feel like the grand finale of a week, but God intended for us to live so much larger than for the weekend. So I will do these Friday chats with you all centered around purpose. It’s a topic I enjoy so much; it is easy for me to go on and on about it. Friday will be a time of encouragement, accountability, and godly wisdom (I’m hoping he will chime in on this, lol). So today, I’m encouraging you to partner with your prayers.
The hustle has been on us since Monday, right? Some of us are headed to our 9 to 5 daily (maybe that’s downstairs or down the expressway), building businesses, taking care of kids, or all of the above. Either way, our time is accounted for. Over time, it takes zero effort to cringe at the thought of what we must do or don’t want to do. But in these moments, I want you to remember your prayers—this post isn’t about being thankful because you prayed for this — though you should. I’m telling you that there is power when we partner with our prayers to build the life that is God’s best for us.
I’m going to let you all into my business for a second. I have a goal to lose around 10lbs and gain a bit of muscle. I started working out this year, but I’m praying for help with curving my eating habits. The Holy Spirit made it so clear to me. He compared the struggle with poor eating habits to sexual immorality. He said, “If you prayed to be free from sexual immorality would it be beneficial to go to a man’s house anytime or way you want. It doesn’t work that way.” I immediately knew the Holy Spirit was telling me that I am responsible for behaving in a way that is conducive to my prayers. The same rings true for you go-getters out there!
This weekend I want you to write out the prayer request you ask for the most and assess your actions. Think about the time spent, words spoken over your circumstances, and the people around you who overcame what you’re praying and struggling with today. Then think about the work you’ve put in, your attitude, and your thoughts towards those goals. Has your behavior been conducive to what you want in life? Remember, there are ways that we can live our lives that place us on the same path as our prayers. I believe you will see fruit if you submit those prayers and your life to God.
Proverbs 4:26 says, watch the path of your feet, and your ways will be established.
Slay Your Friday, Girl – Remember today that you are not doing all you do in vain. Instead, you are pushing to partner with your prayers.
Finish Strong!
Love,
KC
